I just thought I’d introduce you to the latest additions to my bookcase. I ordered them a few weeks ago during the school holidays, but they only arrived today.

This does not bode well for the studies…
P.S. Tune in tomorrow for my review of Ursula le Guin’s A Wizard of Earthsea and The Tombs of Atuan.
I just mis-typed The Dispossessed. Brilliant.

Have you read Ursula Le Guin’s The Dispossed?

I have not. The first two Earthsea novels are the first ones I’ve read of her. I’m writing the review right now.

I don’t think there’s an answer. Just the absolute Zen of getting lost in the pages of a good book and the rest of the world be damned 😀

Absolutely! There’s nothing like it! And yes, Zen is the right word. I’m currently reading Harry Harrison’s ‘Bill the Galactic Hero’, and it makes time vanish.

It’s brilliantly funny, Harrison’s stuff always is. His specific target is Heinlein’s ‘Starship Troopers’, but he also lampoons the Vietnam War and military training in general, among other things. Apparently, I’m told, Heinlein never spoke to Harrison again after this book was published…

“Apparently, I’m told, Heinlein never spoke to Harrison again after this book was published…” That good? I’ll have to add it to my wishlist then. (I’ve never actually read Heinlein either. I’m more Fantasy than SF.)
