There’s this math puzzle doing the rounds on Facebook.  Perhaps you’ve seen it.

It usually starts with the statement that only geniuses can solve it or that ninety percent of people get it wrong.  Then the following:

If:        2 = 6
           3 = 12
           4 = 20
           5 = 30
           6 = 42
Then:      9 = ?
