So, I spent the last two hours writing a post and then trashed it because that’s what it was. Don’t you just hate it when that happens?
I’ll consequently just say happy birthday, America, and please consider your pets when you’re lighting those fireworks tonight.
I don’t know if you’ve heard the news yet? Human head transplants are now possible. Now you can finally get the body you want with just one simple procedure. This will completely revolutionise life as we know it.
Hang on. Did I click on The Sun by mistake? Nope. It’s The Telegraph. That’s a reputable paper, isn’t it?
Some crazy real-life Dr. Frankenstein believes it can be done. We now finally have the technology.
According to my interwebs today is International Joke Day. In honour of this auspicious occasion I thought I’d share a joke with you. I confess I did not write this particular joke, but heard it so long ago I can’t for the life of me remember who came up with it.
A farmer was sitting on his porch late one afternoon sipping some coffee while watching the little lambs grazing in the pasture next to the house. His reverie was rudely interrupted by a shiny BMW that suddenly pulled up in the front yard, kicking up a cloud of dust. A youngster in a snazzy suit and shoes completely unsuitable for any type of real work jumped from the driver’s seat and walked up to the farmer.
It’s time for this week’s Song Title Challenge.
Write a short piece of fiction, around 300 words, using the song title as your story title but don’t listen to the song. Remember to link back to this post so I can find yours.

Another one worth reblogging. This is one of the most balanced views I’ve seen in the same-sex marriage debate, though I’m sure there are people on both sides of the issue who will have a problem with what Beth wrote here. Do all of us a favour and read the whole thing, several times, before you start writing scathing comments.
And while this specifically pertains to recent legal developments in the US, I think the arguments here apply to any free democratic country, including mine.
With the DOMA decision hot off the presses this week, my Facebook news feed has been fascinating. I just sit and watch the screen refresh with anticipation; waiting for the gloves to come off.
